SORRY!THE DICE IS CAST,DANIEL IS GONE.
Jane was crying and wailing uncontrollably inside the house.She was sandwiched by a family member and her closest friend Shalom.As she was sobbing profusely and stretching her body,she looked at her friend intermittently with suggestion of passing message across to her friend.Shalom understood her message been her closest friend and confidant.They were so close right from their high school days and waxing stronger and stronger after completion of high school.
Jane gained admission to read Nursing at the University while Shalom got admission in the University to read education in one of the Universities.Each time they were on break,they bond together to share gist and discuss about future.Shalom has a friend Daniel who showed interest in Jane.He was handsome,tall and light in complexion.Daniel has showed much dexterity that endeared him to Jane also.He was very brilliant and hardworking.He used to assist Jane and Shalom in preparation for University entrance exams.That gave Shalom a little input to facilitate relationship between Jane and Daniel.
Shalom called Jane into inner room and yelled,"today is not your day of cry!You will cry and cry!!Shalom climaxed".
She later continued,but I warned you before you embarked on this dastardly journey.You better wipe away your tears because today is not your day of tears.Shalom lashed her with vituperation over and over again without pitying her friend.Can we blame Shalom?
Daniel worked under Government as a teacher in district.He got married to Jane at St. John Cathedral in the city .Many important dignitaries came from far and wide to grace their wedding solemnization in the city.He put everything into their weeding to make it work as husband and wife.They were blessed with three kids and staying together as comfortable as possible.Daniel has a good saving culture and after few years,he thought of having a home of their own.He shared this idea to his wife,Jane.She was so happy when Daniel told her.They bought the land with Daniels savings and started the development of the property.Daniel was building with contribution savings he collected in school.Daniel expected his wife who is working as a Nurse to assist him on this gigantic project since She is receiving good salary as staff Nurse.But the reverse was the case in every sense during the construction of the building.He felt bad and didn't know what to do.The contribution had eaten deep into his salary when repaying back the loan.So the little left will not be enough to settle household needs or cores.This attitude turned off Jane and always forced her to fight Daniel at every month ending when She request for feeding money and her husband could not give her enough unlike before.Jane lock-up and stopped assisting her husband on anything except feeding herself and her kids.
The sudden attitude of Jane made Daniel to wonder if his wife is happy about the house project or not.One day,Daniel thought o f what to do.He quickly went to Shalom,her mutual friend and facilitator of their relationship.He explained to her how his wife had separated kitchen and refused to give him food at home. How Jane made sure She locked the food stuff she bought and provisions inside her room.Shalom was speechless but assured Daniel that She will come to talk to her friend against her wrong doings in the house.
The following day without further delay,Shalom went to see Jane since they stay in same city.Shalom called Jane three times and began to talk.She explained everything Jane's husband said about her and was wishing her friend to deny it which never happened.Shalom was speechless and asked her friend to say all were lies!She felt disappointing when Jane told her they were all true allegations.
Jane replied her friend that She had suffered enough because of having a building of a thing.That is a responsibility of a man to provide shelter on his family without affecting home cores.He cannot assist her husband to build house but can use her salary to provide foodstuff and provisions for her kids.She then apologized to her friend for refusing to change her behavior.
Shalom felt dejected that her friend refused to listen to her on this issue.She left Jane's house with heavy concern.Shalom imagine Daniel's predicament of eating fried plantain and chips during lunch in school premises and at the same time no quality food for him at home.This has been how Daniel had been living his life till he completed the repayment of loan collected.
After a couple of years,Daniel was overwhelm with joy for completion of the house.He called his family to announce the good news to them that by Easter period,they are moving to their own house.
A week to the preparation to their packing to new house,Daniel was down with illness.They took him to hospital for diagnosis where doctors confirmed that Daniel has complications in his internal organs.
Doctors report shows that the illness was traceable to complication of ulcer.The house was thrown into fear and palpitation.Jane cried and cried when She read Doctors report,at least as a Nurse.A surgery operation was conducted on Daniel as a result.Daniel never came back alive from the General hospital theater as he died during the operation.The whole world turned upside down around Jane.Her wise counsel became harrowing!. Daniel's corpse was carried to the house he built but never slept alive for just one day.As reality down on Jane that She was unreasonably responsible for the death of her husband.She sob and cried uncontrollably as influx of mourners coming in to great the family and pay their last respect.She looked at Shalom at close range and passed a message across simply,but you warned me.Shalom responded with eye language with disdain and inconsolable tears.She blamed her friend for the irreparable death of Daniel and considered it a tough decision to forgive her friend after so many friendly overtures to rescind her attitude towards her husband Daniel.Now,the dice is cast, Daniel is gone!
