SINGLE MOTHER AND CHALLENGES OF PARENTHOOD.
It was like a bad dream when this woman was wailing and shouting.The whole neighborhood were awake with outcry of this woman as She was beaten her daughter and cursing her persistently.All effort to persuade her to stop raining curses on her daughter proved abortive.This was a woman who left her first marriage because of irreconcilable differences between her and her husband.She left home with her fifteen years old (15) daughter and relocated to another town.
She thought of work to do to take care of her and her daughter.Without delay,She decided to venture into food vending business.She was raised by her grandmother who happened to be a popular food vendor in the village.In the course of vending food around the environs,She met one mechanic who was willing to marry her.Tunde was a well popular man in that neighborhood because of his lavish spending and comical nature.He used to play with this woman's daughter jokingly as his little wife.He would give both the mother and daughter money to cater for their needs.After sometime,this man extended romantic overture to this woman which she accepted on condition that the relationship will lead to marriage.Tunde accepted and they continue with their relationship.Anytime this woman in need of money,She will send her 17years old daughter to Tunde.As cunning as Tunde was,after giving this girl money her mother requested for ,he would also make sure he gave reasonable money to this girl and request that she should peck him in show of appreciation.
Many a times,the little girl will decline going to Tunde's house and defy her mothers instruction.The mother did not know reason why the girl was unwilling to go on errand to Tunde,s place.The mother would be shouting and raining abusive words on her daughter for refusing to go to Tunde,her boyfriend.One day,this woman advised that instead of Tunde be coming and going,It won't be a bad idea for them to come together and be staying together since their relationship is not a secret any longer.Then both agreed and move together as husband and wife with her matured daughter.After sometimes,this man appeal to the woman to allow her daughter to stay at home in some Saturdays to assist him in washing his dirty office clothes.The woman accepted without further query.
Once Tunde sees that his wife had gone far to vend food,he will entice the girl and have sex with her.This unholy romance continued for so long as Tunde turned to be an he-goat,having romantic affair with his step daughter and mother.A day came when this woman came early,she forgot the purse she used to keep small change.She has to go back home to take this purse.As usual,Tunde did not lock the entrance door as he was already on action mode.This woman opened door and could not believe Tunde on top of her daughter having sex.She shouted and started biting Tunde ,haaa!

It came as a surprise that as her mother was cursing and abusing her,so the daughter was abusing her mother back and told her it was her mothers fault.She reminded her the number of times she had refused going to Tunde's place.She reminded her the day he gave her #5,000 to buy shoe which her mother collected from her and still thank Tunde for buying her shoe.It turned out to be a war between mother and daughter.I sat down to think about who is to blame?Is it the daughter that allowed Tunde to have canal knowledge of her?Is it Tunde who impregnated his step daughter to be blamed?Or should we blame the mother that married Tunde or used to send her daughter on errand to see Tunde?Who is to blame for this Augean mess.
